Here’s a recap of my weekend in North Carolina celebrating my friends!

A Little Bunny Is Coming!

Lydia and Larry are expecting a baby boy this April, and I drove down to Raleigh on Saturday morning to attend their baby shower! My parents are still on a world trip or I would have taken the boys to their house. But instead I had a little mommy getaway and went straight to Raleigh.

How gorgeous does Lydia look!

It was Becca’s birthday, so we celebrated her too : )

The shower was bunny themed, and the women who hosted did such an amazing job tying the theme into every single detail, from the food to the cake to tiny bunnies tucked into nooks and crannies.

Orange High School Class of ’01!

It was SO great to catch up with some of my best friends from high school. And others I hadn’t seen in decades!

Gift Time!

This photo was taken after about 30 people left! It was packed with guests and gifts! I loved seeing all of the baby things – so soft and sweet and took me right back to my boys’ baby years.

Becca and I took our jobs as Trash Managers very seriously! I folded tissue paper and bags to be used some time in the future. Gotta save the expensive bags! I am pretty sure the gift I brought came in a bag I was given at my own shower : )

My out of focus carrot cake – perfectly themed for a bunny event!

Lydia’s brothers also made an appearance – it’s always a nonstop smile when Hugh David is in the room!

Raleigh Or Bust

I headed to my hotel for the night at the Renaissance North Hills (booked with points, of course!) I’d definitely recommend the hotel. It was nice and updated and smack in the middle of tons of shopping. I’m mad I didn’t make it into the Peloton store. There was a Rothy’s store too!

After a quick turn around I met Becca and her husband, Basil, in the hotel lobby and we headed across the street to Rosewater for dinner. This spot is probably amazing in the warmer months!

Happy Birthday to you!

Becca and Basil told me about their trip to Iceland and how many saunas / hot springs there are. I might have to plan a trip!

The group!

We shared an Octopus app that was incredible. I had salmon for dinner that needed some sides. Luckily Becca shared her brussels sprouts, and Lydia and I shared some forbidden rice too.

We said goodnight and I slept terribly in my hotel, haha. Luckily I was able to sleep in a little and then was so happy with the quality of the free coffee in the lobby!

Before hitting the road back to Cville, I stopped by Happy + Hale for a green smoothie and kombucha for the road.

While I was gone, Thomas took the boys + Nash to Richmond for a day trip. He is so ambitious with them! They went to Maymont Gardens, Top Golf, and did a putt putt round. Total blast of a bro day!
