My 40th birthday party and other fun activities lately.
Birthday Party at Merrie Mill Vineyard
We had a very merrie birthday celebration on Saturday at Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard!!
The Setting
We reserved the upper vine terrace for our group and had apps, cake, and lots of wine.
And we were so lucky for warm sunny weather!
Wine + Cheese + Frosting
My favorite foods!
Napkins here and cake toppers here! They have all the years.
Thankful for friends <3
So thankful for those who were able to make it during this busy fall festive season!
Pulling down the party’s average age
We had two babies in attendance who were both born on the 4th of July!!
In the pumpkin spirit!
Cheers!
Birchie’s BFF Party
Birch and his buddy Rory have birthdays 4 days apart so we took them for an early celebration at Brazos Tacos last week!
They had chips and balloons and cupcakes!! And then they got to run around in the IX park.
You can see how cold it was just a few days before our Merrie Mill party.
FOUR YEARS OLD!
We had a photo of the two friends holding hands framed for their bedrooms. (via CVS – so quick and inexpensive!)
Soccer Days
Mazen and I went to see the UVA men’s soccer team with one of his buddies and his mom. I loved watching the players! Mazen loved playing in the grass with all the other kids who were not watching the game. haha.
Birch is “enjoying” soccer too. I put that in quotes because he will only participate if we get out there next to him and also participate.
But to me that’s a win over crying on the sidelines!
He’s the youngest on the team, so I’m sure he’ll grow into it. I hope he will also grow into his uniform 😉
Brandi Carlile Concert
A few weeks ago I went to see Brandi Carlile with some girlfriends. We had dinner and margs at Passiflora and then walked to the show.
This was my first Brandi show and she was incredible solo!! Her voice, her messages, the piano songs, the crowd. I have been playing the song Right On Time on repeat.
New lunch spot: Chickadee
I met two girlfriends at Chickadee recently and had a fabulous lunch on one of our warmer days. This was my first visit and I loved the menu!
My sandwich was fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, arugula, and egg. Plus the best crunchy fries!
And I also shared this amazing salad with my friend Elizabeth. The house-made croutons, goat cheese, and praline pecans… so good!
Halloween Fun
Birch and I go to our neighbors to visit Frankenstein almost every day.
We also say hello to all the scary skeletons and monsters. One week to go!
Hope you had a great weekend <3
