Harrison Medical Group Joins White Plains Hospital System

HARRISON, NY – The name may be changing, but the familiar faces at a respected local medical practice are staying right here.

Doctors Shekhar Palekar and Seth Leven, of Harrison Medical Group, are leaving their old moniker behind and becoming White Plains Hospital Physician Associates.

Dr. Palekar, who specializes in geriatric medicine and preventive care, founded Harrison Medical Group in 1999. He is also an adjunct professor of family medicine at New York Medical College and a clinical instructor in family medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Palekar earned his medical degree and a master’s degree in surgery from Topiwala National Medical College in Mumbai, India, followed by fellowships at both the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He then completed his residency in family medicine at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers.

Dr. Leven is a board-certified internist with an extensive knowledge of several internal medical subspecialties. His interests include preventative medicine, with a special emphasis on promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Harrison residents will now benefit from greater access to an expanded breadth of outpatient specialty services as the Harrison Medical Group transitions to White Plains Hospital Physician Associates network.
