HOBOKEN, NJ – The mile-square city will host three farmers’ markets this year, including a new market in the newly built Southwest Park at 58 Jackson St.

The Uptown Farmers’ Market was originally set to kick off this past Saturday under the 14th Street Viaduct, but was postponed until this coming Saturday because of the heavy rain. It will continue to run Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm through mid-December.

The other two markets will start in June.

They are:

• The new Southwest Park Farmers’ Market, run in partnership with the Hoboken Quality of Life
  Coalition (QLC), will take place every Thursday starting on June 9 from 2 pm to 8 pm on the north side of Observer Highway between Jackson Street and Harrison Street. It will run through mid-November.
• The Hoboken Farmers ‘Market, or Church Square Park Farmers’ Market, is the city’s longest-running farmer’s market, entering its 26th year. The market, which the Hoboken Quality of Life Coalition sponsors, will return to Garden Street at Church Square Park between Fourth Street and Fifth Street every Tuesday from 2 pm to 8 pm, starting on June 7.

Those who want to head to a market on Sunday can travel up the Palisades to Jersey City Heights for their Riverview Farmers’ Market.

Participating vendors in Hoboken will vary by market, but they include Stony Hill Farms, Union Hill Farms, Melick’s Town Farm, Circle Brook Farms, Cotton Cattle, Hoboken Farms, Roger’s Seafood, Picklicious, Choc O Pain, Paolo’s Kitchen, Gourmet Dried Fruits and Nuts, and more.

Some vendors will accept SNAP food benefits.

“Access to fresh produce is essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which is why we have partnered with local organizations to expand our farmers’ market offerings,” said Mayor Ravi Bhalla.
