Apple says more its software and magic. Quick Look really.

You can, while browsing files on your Mac, hit the spacebar to view a preview. This applies to photographs, documents, and media files, and there are some changes needed.

It’s fine, but there are all sorts of file type incompatibility. Fortunately, you can change that. There are many free apps that add new features to Quick Look — here are some of the best ones.

Please note that updates to macOS a few years ago disrupted many Quick Look plugins available online. Everything listed here works like macOS 12 Monterey.

See Contents of Storage Files

On a Mac, opening a ZIP or RAR file, or any other saved file, means deleting everything. I like this most of the time, but sometimes I want to see what’s inside the repository before I open it. BetterZip. is good for this.

This is a paid program that allows you to open saved files, similar to opening old ones in Windows. You have to pay a lot of money, but the Quick Look plugin is free, giving you an easy way to view the contents of each database browser. Twenty files are supported, including most you have ever heard (and several you do not have).

Learn About Apps Before Using Them

Quick Look does not have much software specifications – file size and machine information.

The free Apparence app adds features, allowing you to quickly see if the app is safe and if it will run on your computer.
