Hallween recap and a bit of life lately!
Halloween was fun!
Cue the Blippi music, I’ve been singing that song all week! IYKYK!
We were so glad it did not rain this year. It was actually the perfect Halloween day – cloudy, spooky, and chilly!
The Frame TV was in the spirit:
Mazen was invited to go trick or treating with his friends in another neighborhood this year. It broke my heart a little for Birch who was very bummed about it. Mazen was torn but he thought long and hard and compromised by going with Birch on Saturday on the mall.
The big boys were quite scary:
I wore my go-to black wig and added a light up unicorn headband I found on sale at Target last year. Always buy the accessories on sale!
Thomas…..aka Chuckie…..just no. Haha.
Birch got tons of compliments on his costume especially with his red light saber leading the way. He was very cute.
We had Green Chef soup before we hit the town in search of Resee’s and Butterfingers!
Mazen came home with pounds and pounds of candy.
All year long, you never know what kind of spooky guy will appear in my rearview mirror.
Fall Friends
The boys have both had a blast with their buddies lately! We went to R’s birthday party and Birch had a blast jumping and enjoying Kona ice for his dinner (lol)
MAZE IN A MAZE
Mazen and his buddies went to the Blue Ridge Corn Maze and tried to spell MAZEN! Epic!!!
Taylor Swift Show
Nest Realty + Karen Ball invited us for free tickets to the Taylor Swift concert at Violet Crown! Meg joined me, and we LOVED IT! When they showed clips of the stadium, I was actually very happy with my comfortable front row seat. This was a great way to see a concert! Total respect for Taylor.
Cousin love <3
Survivor Challenge
Greer Elementary has the best playground in town! The boys played Survivor challenge across the obstacle course. Maybe if I don’t make it on the show, they will!
Date Night With My Best Friend
Fall Foods
Pumpkin oatmeal with chia seeds, biscoff, and WHIPPED CREAM! omg was this a delicious filling bowl of goodness before my Sunday soccer game!
The whipped cream has been making its way onto waffles too!
And in pumpkin yogurt.
Blue Apron Panko Shrimp
I love anything crispy in my dinner foods!
This shrimp + zucchini dish was excellent.
We also attended our neighborhood block party with Farmacy Food Truck. Our neighbor Annie organizes this event a few times a year, and it’s always so fun. My order is most often a “grown up quesadilla” which means it’s filled with mushrooms, kale, peppers and cheese.
Some more of the fancy Blue Apron dinners we’ve had:
Steak with roasted potatoes and red wine
Leftovers of the shrimp dinner above! Cook once, eat twice.
Barramundi with an apricot glaze. Loved this one! (That wine is the new Surely NA Red Blend!)
We’ve been loving the Blanc Creatives carbon steel pan for searing things – look at that perfect fish crisp!
Fall Cozy
It’s time for the stroller sleeping bag to come back out on those 40 degree mornings. Birch loves it – it’s so warm. He has been asking to get out and walk the last few blocks to school so he doesn’t show up in a “baby stroller.” That is fine with me!
I’m glad our warm spell ended because it’s time for fireplace season! Love our new mantel and Frame TV!!!!!
Thomas is getting the yard ready for winter with his new electric mower. It’s very quiet!
Love the sun shadows on the house at this time of day.
Happy November! Happy birthday Dad!
