The best olive oil sprayers make coating your cookware quick and convenient. Olive oil is such a versatile and flavorful ingredient to use in your cooking — it’s a staple in so many of my favorite recipes! However, if you’re pouring it out of the bottle, it’s easy to use more than you intended, adding unnecessary calories to the dish. That’s where the best olive oil sprayers come in handy.

There are quite a few olive oil sprayers out there today, and not all of them perform up to par To help you find the best olive oil sprayer for your kitchen, the following is a list of products I recommend — the selections are based on both my personal experiences and reviews from other cooking experts.

This olive oil sprayer is a staple on my kitchen counter. I reach for it all the time, whether I’m cooking in the air fryer or prepping a frying pan to cook dinner. It’s also great for dispensing a consistent amount of oil onto salads or vegetables for roasting!

I fill this bottle with my favorite olive oil, but you can use it for another type of oil, like canola or avocado oil, if you wanted. The trigger-style cap delivers a nice, even spray with a single pull, and I’ve never had issues with the cap clogging. When you need to clean it, the bottle can be put on the top rack of the dishwasher, but I find it easier to wash it by hand because of its unique shape.

The Specs:

  • Capacity: 6 ounces
  • Style: Trigger
  • Materials: Glass
  • Dispenses: ¼ teaspoon/spray

The Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Doesn’t clog
  • Durable glass bottle
  • Available in several colors

The Cons:

  • Funnel needed for filling
  • Bulkier than other bottles

What Others are Saying:

The Spruce Eats tested the Evo Oil Sprayer and called it “a game-changer in the kitchen,” in their in-depth product review.

2. Best Continuous Spray: Flairosol Olivia Advanced Oil Sprayer

Credit: Amazon

If you want to be able to coat the inside of a pan in oil with one continuous spray, this pretty oil sprayer is the way to go. It comes in a glass bottle decorated with a gold botanical design, and when you hold the trigger down, it delivers a continuous spray of oil. Alternatively, a quick pump of the trigger dispenses 1 gram of oil — handy for portion control.

I also like that this bottle has a wide opening, making it easier to fill without a funnel, and the fan nozzle creates a wide spray of mist for better coverage. The only downside is that some people say thicker oils (like coconut oil) may clog the nozzle.

The Specs:

  • Capacity: 4.4 ounces
  • Style: Trigger
  • Materials: Glass
  • Dispenses: 1 gram

The Pros:

  • Decorative glass bottle
  • Continuous spray option
  • Fan-spray nozzle
  • Wide bottle opening

The Cons:

  • Thick oil may clog the nozzle

What Others are Saying:

The Flairosol Olivia Advanced Oil Sprayer sprayer has a 4.7-star rating from more than 1,900 reviewers on Amazon.

This little oil sprayer is an inexpensive option that won’t take up too much space in your kitchen. It has a little button on the top that you press to dispense oil, and it sprays a wide fan of mist, especially considering its small size. You will need a funnel to get oil into the jar, but the brand includes one with your purchase. Just keep in mind that this bottle is a bit more delicate than others and may break if it gets banged or bumped.

The Specs:

  • Capacity: 100 milliliters (roughly 3.4 ounces)
  • Style: Trigger
  • Materials: Glass
  • Dispenses: Varies

The Pros:

  • Inexpensive price
  • Sprays oil in a wide fan
  • Compact design

The Cons:

  • Not as durable as other options
  • Funnel needed for filling (included)

What Others are Saying:

The Hibabe Olive Oil Sprayer has a rating of 4.2 stars from more than 2,300 reviews on Amazon.

4. Best For The Grill: Cuisinart Grilling Oil Mister

It’s always a good idea to oil your grill grates to prevent food from sticking, so this oil sprayer can be used out by the grill or in the kitchen. While some sprayers provide a wide, single stream that’s ideal for coating a pan, the Cuisinart can also deliver a mist that covers wider surfaces like an outdoor grill. It has a glass bottle with a button-style trigger on top, so you can dispense oil in a stream or mist depending on how you press the button. I also love that the bottle is dishwasher-safe, making it easy to clean. Just be careful with the glass bottle when you’re transporting it out to the grill over hard surfaces (like the porch or the walkway) — it will most likely break if dropped.

The Specs:

  • Capacity: 200 milliliters (roughly 6.8 ounces)
  • Style: Button
  • Materials: Glass
  • Dispenses: Varies

The Pros:

  • Sprays stream or mist
  • Useful for grill or kitchen
  • Dishwasher safe

The Cons:

  • Prone to clogs
  • Not the most durable

What Others are Saying:

The Cuisinart Grilling Oil Mister has a 4.2-star rating on Amazon from over 600 reviews.

Other Olive Oil Sprayers to Consider

Prepara Simply Mist Oil Sprayer

This oil sprayer has a uniquely shaped top that makes it easy to hold, and it dispenses 1.4 teaspoons of oil every time you pull the trigger. If you give it a quick squeeze, the oil comes out in a finer spray, or a longer pull will yield a stream of oil. The bottle is dishwasher safe, but it’s not the best option if you want an extremely fine mist. The Prepara Simply Mist Oil Sprayer is available at Amazon for $12.99

Mistifi Olive Oil Sprayer

This oil mister is decorated with a cute vegetable-themed design, and it holds up to 6 ounces of your favorite oil or other condiment. It has an easy-to-use trigger that dispenses the oil, and each spray is 1 gram, which is handy for portion control. While the design and functionality of this product are great, I don’t love that the bottle is made out of plastic. The Mistifi Olive Oil Sprayer is available at Amazon for $17.75.

Evo Stainless Steel Oil Sprayer

If you want a larger-capacity sprayer, this one can hold up to 16 ounces of your favorite cooking oil. It’s from the same brand as the oil sprayer I use, but this version is made from stainless steel. It has the same trigger style and comes in multiple colors, but keep in mind that its large size will take up more room on your counter or cupboard. The Evo Stainless Steel Oil Sprayer is available at Amazon for $19.55.

Trudeau Oil Spray Bottle

Here’s another sleek pump-style spray bottle. It’s made from glass with a plastic pump mechanism, and it can hold up to 10 ounces of oil. The bottle is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning, but there aren’t any reviews on this model, so it’s hard to say how it will perform. The Trudeau Oil Spray Bottle is available at Williams Sonoma for $17.95.

About Me

I’m Gina, the creator and recipe developer of Skinnytaste, which features hundreds of delicious and healthy recipes for the whole family, made with seasonal, whole foods. In my journey to create lightened-up versions of my family’s favorite meals, I learned the importance of using olive oil in moderation — after all, despite its health benefits, it’s quite high in calories. That’s one of the reasons I love olive oil sprayers: They dispense the perfect amount of oil for cooking, allowing you to coat the bottom of a pan without pouring too much.

To put together this list of the best olive oil sprayers, I started with products and brands that I’ve personally used and recommend. For options that I haven’t tested myself, I read reviews from cooking experts and product testers at top-rated publications, as well as the thoughts of real users on shopping sites like Amazon. I selected models that get consistent praise for their performance, ease of use, and reliability.

What to Consider Before Buying an Olive Oil Sprayer

There are several factors you’ll want to think about as you select the best oil sprayer for your kitchen:

  • Capacity: Oil sprayers come in a variety of sizes, from as low as 3 ounces to 16 ounces or more. Smaller models will take up less space in your kitchen but need to be refilled more often, while larger bottles can go longer between top-offs.
  • Style: Most oil sprayers operate using either a pump mechanism or a trigger/button. The former option requires you to build up pressure to create a steady stream of oil, while the latter can be sprayed without any prep.
  • Compatibility: Some oil sprayers are only designed to be used with certain types of oils. Depending on what you’re planning to put in the sprayer, you may want to check to see what liquids can be used in it. For instance, coconut oil is a thick liquid that may clog some nozzles.

How Do You Use an Olive Oil Sprayer?

The beauty of oil sprayers is that they’re extremely easy to use. With a trigger- or button-style sprayer like I have, you simply pull the trigger to dispense a spurt of oil. Pump sprayers require an extra step—you need to pump the cap several times, building up pressure inside the bottle, before you press the nozzle to spray. Some oil sprayers can also be used in different ways, such as holding the trigger down for a continuous spray.

What are the Benefits of Using an Olive Oil Sprayer?

There are a few reasons why I love my olive oil sprayer. For one, it makes it quick and easy to use my favorite olive oils in different dishes that I cook, and I love that I don’t have to keep throwing away bottles of cooking spray. Many sprayers can help with portion control, and they’re also non-aerosol and free from propellants, which can be harmful to your help.

Can You Use Olive Oil Spray In an Air Fryer?

I absolutely love using my oil sprayer to prep my air fryer for cooking. It helps distribute oil evenly over the basket, which prevents foods from sticking. Alternatively, you can use air fryer liners in the bottom of the basket, which can simply be thrown away after use.

What Olive Oil Should I Use In an Olive Oil Sprayer?

One of the best things about oil sprayers is that you can use your favorite type of olive oil in them. I typically fill my sprayer with Bertolli extra-virgin olive oil, which is unrefined and cold-extracted, making it healthier and more flavorful to use. Other great oils to cook with include canola oil, which has a more neutral flavor, or avocado oil, which has a high smoking point.

You can use your new olive oil sprayer in any recipe where you’d usually pour oil or rely on cooking spray. They’re great for spraying frying pans before cooking chicken, seasoning your grill before use, making your air fryer basket non-stick, and even flavoring salads or popcorn.
