According to News Center Maine, a class of 4th graders from the SeDoMoCha Elementary School in Dover-Foxcroft had a chance to learn to fish.

The Friends of Community Fitness in Guilford sponsored a Hooked on Maine Outdoors field trip that gave fishing lessons to SeDoMoCha Elementary School 4th graders. After learning the basics, the kids had a chance to try their hand at fishing in Dunham Brook.

Some of the kids proved themselves to be really adept at fishing. One young woman, Allison, ended up catching ten fish by the end of the day.

Probably the biggest surprise of the day was that the students got to keep the fishing poles they had been using. Many said they planned to continue to fish throughout the summer.

The Friends of Community Fitness, which is based in Guilford, hosts many similar outings throughout the year.
